This is the homepage for the current Visual Literacy Task Force, convened by the ACRL Image Resources Interest Group (IRIG) in 2018. This Task Force was charged with updating the 2011 ACRL Visual Literacy Competency Standards as part of ACRL’s Framework Companion Document initiative. Our companion document, the Framework for Visual Literacy in Higher Education, has been approved by the ACRL Image Resources Interest Group, the ACRL Information Literacy Frameworks and Standards Committee, and the ACRL Standards Committee. It received final approval the ACRL Board of Directors in April 2022.
